2013 E-Street PDMC Race Report Feburary’s ROM By: Rhodes Captain
Racing and riding seems to teach us all valuable life lessons, someare learned and some you already knew but had forgotten, so I thoughtthis week I would hit you right in the eye with a refresher course ona couple of the important ones:
#1..Wear Goggles at all times, you only have 2 eyes, seeing with only1 eye sucks!! #2 While Racing E-street bring a wad of cash for the gate fees or abig trailer to stash the family! #3 If your Maiden Voyage (ANDY) in your new 5th wheel is at ANY raceand you like to go to bed early, make sure the fire pit doesn’t get put by your bedroom, cause that’s where the PARTY is going to be!!Getting told by owners wife at midnight to SHUT the “F” up is notpleasant! #4 Lock all your Belongings up at all times, including GENERATORS,especially at bumville USA! #5 If you got poison oak the week before on your gear and boots, make sure to wash them thoroughly or the chances of you itching for anotherweek are very HIGH!!!! Trust me on this one!! #6 If you borrow a Vintage bike to race make sure that when you blowit up that its not just a piston you blow up but the whole bottom end!We wouldn’t want to say you did anything HALF ASS! #7 If you “NO SHOW” the ROM, your rights of rushing the Rhodes CaptainReport on Tuesday while he only has one good eye, are nullified andyou owe a round of drinks to the entire club!!!
Now with that out of the way! Lets get to the Racin!! We had many dotsshow up, quite a few for just support!
Saturday’s racers were welcomed with a cool cold windy day, and we hadall our youth racers racing in the same race. JT Baker for the 3rdweek in a row took 1st AA and had his hands full with a RM mx kid andended with a 3 O/A, Mason Parker had a great ride and ended with 4thB-85 and 11thO/A, Calum Campbell got slowed down a little bit by aclogged spark arrestor and took 3rd AA and 12th O/A, and finally MaxParker had some mechanical issues and took a 5th A85 and 23rd O/A.
Sunday was the same cool cold windy day and as I met Mr Roe in a coldsign up line at 7am he was thrilled to show me that he was not a soup sandwich anymore and had upgraded to an organized professional sign up dude, were proud of you Mr Roe now if only our website was worth apoo!!! First Race featured our MONEY LINE C seniors and Sr Plus and Meon the borrowed vintage mentioned earlier. Rich Solis has beendowngraded in this line from “1 lap Richie” to “NO SHOW Richie” andWorth was a NO SHOW as well, this left a battle with Ray Kirchner and Kevin Roe. The best part of this is Steve Wilkinson (54x) came out ofno where and beat them both on the O/A with a 65 O/A and 5th Sr Plus,Kevin Roe got the HOLESHOTTT and13th 70th O/A and Ray Kirchnertangled up with my good friend and prior polka dot member CharlieCoiner, these two looked like 16 year olds in a lip lock with braceson, they actually had to get tools to separate their bikes!! Ray endedup 18th and 115 O/A!!
Now I get to mention my 15 year old daughterKyleigh Rhodes in here starting her own Polka Dot Girl fashion with the help of Mrs Parker, with a Pink polka dot shirt that kicked all their asses by over 7 minutes and a 45th O/A with a 1st in C Women!!Proud of you baby girl maybe we can take these guys riding some timeand you can show em something!!!
Second race was the C Sportsmans and the stacked class of the C-200’s.Max Parker again had an excellent ride and took a 3rd and 10th O/A andlittle bro Mason following with a 12th and 39th O/A!! Great ridekiddos that’s a deep class!Third Race was loaded with Dots in the B Class and the first two rowsthe Baker Brothers had their BROOMS out with a SWEEP in the HOLESHOOTTDepartment!!!! I’ll go in order of O/A and JT Baker taking top honorswith a 4th O/A 3rd B-250, Calum Campbell with a nice top 10th O/A and8th B-250, Ty Baker was having a great ride and decided he liked somebums carpet in his wheel, that ended up with 29th O/A and 7th B open,Bob Austin looked strong the whole race on his kawi ended with 38thO/A and 3rd B senior, Jeremy Wright and Curt Crandall had a greatbattle going and the young one inched it out with a 63 O/A 13th B Vetand Curt finished with a 69th O/A and 14th B Senior, and last but notleast our president Justin Jensen took a 86 O/A and 17th B vet, he probably found out E-street is never a good 1st race of the year foryour legs!!Thanks to all the Dots, pit crews, friends and family! It will feelgood to take a couple weeks off!
